Origin: Taylor’s Tribute is a Scottish Breakfast blend of Assam and Ceylon black tea leaves sourced from tea plantations and estates in India and Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon). This tea is organically grown, and also fair trade certified which guarantees fair wages as well as provides extra funds to help improve the lives of the tea workers, their families, and communities.

Historically, early Scottish tea-growing pioneers, most notably James Taylor, first introduced tea to what was then known as British Ceylon. Taylor’s tea legacy began in 1866 when he visited India to learn the basics of growing tea on plantations. A year later and armed with his newly acquired knowledge, Taylor moved to a forested district in British Ceylon, cleared 19 acres, and planted the first seedlings in 1867. This became the first successful tea plantation established in Sri Lanka (Ceylon). Today even people who have never heard of Sri Lanka or James Taylor are familiar with Ceylon tea, which is known worldwide for its quality.
As individual teas, Assam has a deep malty flavor with astringent notes and a dark color, whereas Ceylon has a lighter, refreshing character with less astringency and often some citrus undertones.

1 - 2 large teaspoons (3.5 grams) per 8oz cup of less than boiled water, preferably 200F or less.

*Brewing Tip: As with all black tea, steeping for longer times and at higher temperatures, will only activate more tannins increasing astringency and bitterness. Instead, use more tea for a stronger, bolder brew, or use less tea at lower temps for a softer, more mild flavor.

Sample size provides at least 4 servings. 1.5oz pkg provides at least 12 brewed cups.

Pre-measured tea packs contain 2 easy-to-brew pouches. One pouch brews 32oz of tea; the perfect size for a standard English Pot of Tea. Two pouches together will brew 64oz, the standard household pitcher or half-a-gallon, just the right amount for Iced Tea.

For a quick Iced Tea preparation, steep both pouches together in 32oz of water per the temperature & steeping time suggested. Then finish by adding the strongly brewed tea to cold water and/or ice to fill your standard 64oz pitcher. You can remove the pouch(s) at any time once the flavor you desire is achieved. Sweeten & garnish to your liking.
