Origin: Cuppa Culture's organic Puerh is grown on a farm in ancient forests in the mountains of Yunnan Province, China, around the tropical region of Xishuangbanna, just to the North of the mighty Mekong River. This is a Shu (or cooked) Puerh that has been aged for over five years. While the exact process is kept as a closely guarded secret, the tea has been stored deep underground in special caves that maintain the perfect temperature and humidity. Chinese Puerhs are the only teas intentionally fermented in these special caves giving them deep, rich flavors and aromas that coat your tongue and relax your mind. Over the five years of aging, the tea achieves an earthy, almost unsweetened chocolate flavor.

1 large, heaped teaspoon (3 grams) per 8oz cup of less than boiled water, preferably 200F or less. Adjust the amount of tea according to your personal taste. This tea is an excellent choice for multiple steepings.

*Brewing Tip: As with all black tea, steeping for longer times and at higher temperatures, will only activate more tannins increasing astringency and bitterness. Instead, use more tea for a stronger, bolder brew, or use less tea at lower temps for a softer, more mild flavor.
